I can't help but to get child-like excited when I see a new name from Japan and even more so when after hitting play it becomes evident that the artist plays the piano. That being said, Taichi Chishaki is most certainly going to remain on my radar along with my absolute favorite Hideyuki Hashimoto.
"Harmony" is a richly composed, elegant, laid-back piece taking the best out of classical, jazz and contemporary, blending them into an absolute stunner of a piano piece. As if that wasn't enough the production of the recording is worth a round of applause of its own - its finely balanced tones and roominess create an intimate atmosphere, bound to charm the hell out of you and your ears.
