Coming from Poland, Piotr Wiese is a name that we have grown to recognize with delight. This pianist has proven to not only have a strong sense of beauty, but also because it is that very beauty which he captures in a way that's both approachable and unique.
"Escapism", written around a classical/cinematic core is a melancholic ode to longing and letting go. The pianist signifies each of the two with a dedicated movement - sometimes lingering around on a gentle melody, other times pacing ahead on arpeggios, as if trying to escape time. Unafraid of now but certainly somewhat eager for what's next, the track captivates the listener in it's highly convincing and masterfully presented domain.
