Doeke is a Dutch pianist who's "Op Reis" undoubtedly deserves the opening spot of this week's Piano Pearls. Playful, elegant, calming and energizing all at once - the piece waltzes in effortlessly and follows through in a fairly consistent manner with grace and beauty.

A lot more slow paced yet nonetheless uplifting is the composition by Kenneth Lampl entitled "Giverny". Beautifully wrapped in rubato and recorded at the highest level, the piece lingers light as a feather on its heavily rich musical wings - pure art.

Certainly the most picturesque of them all is Josiah Austin's "Field". Only the right amount of cinematic in the melody, the piece swings and paints like a brush of an artist, bringing up images of nature and otherwise universal beauty.
