Peter Mowry "No Stars": there is light whether or not you can see it


Piano music can deliver a whole array of moods and Peter Mowry form USA is no stranger to that notion. In his recent release entitled "No Stars" he exploits the wide-spoken abilities of the piano instrument, combining melancholy, anticipation, and beyond.


Momentum driven, the piece rolls right in on its three-note arpeggio, painting a fairly dramatic picture, one that is soon contrasted by an elegant, simple piano melody played on the right hand. Dynamically consistent, the music maintains its somewhat nostalgic course, resolving into an elaboration that is more revealing in the composer's true intent - its loving and accepting undertones speaking volumes for the strength of the character at its core and the goodness of its heart.
