Oscar Kowalski is a French pianist who came to our attention with his recently released, illusive piano piece entitled "Le Passage".
Written around a strong neoclassical core, the composition takes off on a gentle melody played a top a feather-light left-hand accompaniment. Soon enough, the piece begins to evolve, rising higher above the horizon on its powerful, fearless wings, onwards to an arpeggio-driven movement, which is soaked in direction, intent and liberty. Pacing effortlessly through the technically demanding bars, the pianist soon descends back to safer altitudes, leaving the listeners in an undeniable awe and at ease.
