Oliver Patrice Weder is a Swiss composer who's mesmerizingly beautiful piano piece "Encina" we are listening to today.
Written around a strong classical core the piece presents itself with heavy, yet quiet accompaniment, which is then soon expanded by the most appealing of melodies. Somewhat melancholic, but not weeping, the music rushes nowhere with its intent and spells out the feeling one feather-light note at a time. Past an imaginative elaboration, the pianist breaks up the track, almost fooling the listener to think it has ended, then - picks it up again in the note of its admirable beginnings.
An absolute gem in the genre of calm piano, let it in up above.
