Meg Blumberg, who has once before been featured on our blog, returns with another charming neoclassical endeavor entitled ''MARKS''.
Although composed with plenty of respect to both instrument as well as the classical music, the pianist doesn't bow before any gods and plays the keys with a very individualistic attitude. Meg Blumberg is able to bend the time beyond what most pianists would feel comfortable with, all the while keeping the entirety of the composition in one solid piece. Elaborate and intelligent, the music seems to almost be too familiar with the future and serenades the inevitable outcomes, somewhat burdened by it's intelligence, but not weeping or feeling sorry about itself.
