It is not often we allow drums and beats into the sanctuary of our meditative, ambient blog, but this is a slightly different case - for despite the arrangement featuring both woodwinds and strings, it is the percussion that carries the melodic element in this composition. Played at the highest level, Marla Leigh shows us just how elaborate and captivating a percussive section can be. Shamanic in a very enlightening way, the music seeps into your being phrase by phrase, consistent in its core but never really predictable to any comprehensible extent.
