This week has so far been unusually rich in brilliant piano music and how I just can not complain about it. Take this recently released piano arrangement by Make Shadows Together entitled "Song For Frida".
Taking off on a cool piano melody and distant weeping drones the music instantly sets a strong and convincing mood. Then, quite abruptly, the theme changes into a more forward directed movement with a delightful melodic elaboration. Past a turbulent but a safe flight, the composer then brings the listener back to the mystifyingly cool origins of this track.
