Calming, captivating and lulling all at once is "Aprilregen" - a recently released neoclassical snack from a German composer Jakob Balogh.
The piece begins with a strong forward-moving momentum predicting a story-like experience - a promise which is by all means upheld. The piece evolves with melody, a string section and a paced but present dynamic which keeps the listener involved all the way through. Unrushed and unforced the music paints a vivid picture and stands one of the most picturesque compositions in my recent memory.
