Felipe Malaquias is a Brazilian composer who won our hearts with a recently released neoclassical gem entitled "Lua".
Written around a a classical core, the music takes from jazz, pop and cinematic to create a memorable and moving experience. Taking off on wings of strings, the piece soon settles down into a piano valley, from which - after an introduction of the Hollywood-esque theme - it begins to slowly rise again, rejoined by the strings. It is amazing how much light this composition carries - if I had to hear it one more time, I'm definitely putting my sunglasses on.
No short of magical and masterful, listen to "Lua" up above.
