Emil Smith is a music producer who explores a wide variety of genres, Middle-Eastern and North-African inclusive, both of which show richly in his mesmerizing recent release entitled ''Burial''.
Just above one-and-a-half minute long, the composition features beautifully arranged female voices chanting along the above-mentioned patterns of musical roots. The singing is filled with love, grief, longing but also acceptance. While the numerous voices work their magic harmonizing flawlessly in and around middle-eastern scales, a gentle sitar-like drone lays a beautiful sonic carpet for the vocal magnificence to rest on.
