Blurstem "This, Here": Quietly Present

Minneapolis composer Chris Bartels, known for his ambient project Elskavon, returns to his piano-centered moniker Blurstem with "This, Here" — a sparse, introspective piece built on the tactile intimacy of a muted spinet piano.

Everything here breathes: the gentle creak of the bench, the softened hammers, the organic space between notes. The performance feels unedited, human, and deeply present — capturing the fragile clarity of late-night improvisation.

"This, Here" is part of Cedar Grove, Bartels’ eighth release, and a return to the raw sound that started it all. It’s ambient minimalism at its most honest.
