A new release by the Italian pianist Andrea Sertori entitled "January" is just what you need to hear this blue, humbling time of the year.
Written around a classical core with elements of cinematic, the piece captures the mood as accurately as ever, elegantly swinging between melancholic and hopeful and between contemplative and anticipative. Beautifully composed phrases seem to speak a language of its own, phrase by phrase, bar by bar, elegant and complete.
